Abstract (EN)
At The Ottoman Empire, the modernization and mechanization process on in-dustry which has begun in the second half of nineteenth century has caused to change for educating of a technical personnel at industry sector. It has been tried to train personnel that can be adapted to new industry sectors instead of the master-apprentice relationships which was used in old times. The workhouses which have founded at 1863 by Mithat Pasha and have a primary purpose that was to protect the homeless children, has begun to train the technical personnel of The Ottoman Empire as Industry School. This study investigates the Industry Schools for Girls that was founded with the entrance of girls to education process. These schools have included the girls to process of modernization on industry, so these institutions have trained the women who have self-confident and can contribute to their family and society. In this research, the place and importance of The Industry Schools for Girls which is the past form of girls' vocational school at present, is determined and also the roles of girls in vocational education at Contemporary Turkish History are included.
