Özet (EN)

The study deals with the section of the Anatolian right arm road between Konya-Adana-Belen and the accommodation structures built on this route during the Ottoman period. The Konya-Adan-Belen section of the road used by pilgrims and other passengers takes 114 hours by caravan walk. It reaches Syria, Egypt and Hejaz via Konya- Karapınar- Ereğli- Ulukışla- Pozantı- Sarıışık- Kuzoluk Inn- Çakıt Inn- Adana- Misis- Kurtkulağı- Payas- İskenderun- Belen. In the first part of the thesis, it was tried to determine the Konya-Belen route. The road, which crosses the Konya plateau, descends to Çukurova after the steep and steep Gülek Pass, and then reaches the Mediterranean coast. In the section from İskenderun to Belen, the slope value is very high. The sections with different geological features were handled separately, and the difficulties of the journey were included in each section. Sources indicate that many accommodation structures were built on this road. During the study process, a total of 46 accommodation structures were identified, 11 between Konya and Ulukışla, 30 between Ulukışla and Adana, and 5 between Adana and Belen. It was determined that 14 of them survived, 5 of them were restored and one of them was taken under protection. This study includes all the structures that have survived and not reached today. The importance of the buildings in terms of Turkish art and architectural history is emphasized, besides, their location, plan dimensions, structural features are evaluated, and the observations of the travelers are included. Key words: Caravanserai, Inn, Pilgrimage Road, Konya, Adana, Caravan road.
