Özet (EN)

Sorân is situated in the northern eastern part of Iraq, its boundaries from the east is Iran and the west is Bahdinan region. The Imara of Sorân was established in the end of 12th century AD. It was established by Essay Pasha b. Kollos, one of the emperors. The Imara's extended 650 years. The Amirs, the princes, are 24,one succeeded the other. The Imara becomes one of states of the Ottoman Empire in 1514, especially after the famous battle Jaldiran with the Persia at that time . In 1830 the Imara declared its independence, but in 1835,the rule of this empire ended. In 1830the Imara declared its independence, but in 1835,the rule of this empire ended. The ruling cities of the Imara are Harir, Shaklawa, Khakiffan and Rawandooz is the capital. The boundaries of the Imara include Erbil and a part of Kirkuk which had been a part of the province of Mosul according to the Ottoman division. The Imara extended, depending on the political situations and time as well. In 1813 Mustafa Bag, one of the emperors, gives the throne to his prince Mohammad Pasha al kaber who died in 1837.
