Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the awareness of families with children with special needs about their children's education, the attitudes and behaviors of families, and the level of participation of families in rehabilitation in the rehabilitation of children. In the study, relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used to examine the functionality levels of families in the rehabilitation of children with special needs. In the study, the Family Functioning in Rehabilitation scale developed by Abaoğlu (2015) was used to obtain the data. The study group of the research consists of 315 families with children with special needs who have been in rehabilitation programs for one year in Isparta province, district and village centers. Statistical SPSS 23.0 package program was used in the analysis of the data. In this context, data were analyzed by using frequency Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis tests. As a result of the research, it was determined that the age, education status and monthly income of the parents who have children with special needs do not affect the attitude and behavior level of the family and the level of participation of the family in rehabilitation, but the type of disability of the child affects the level of attitude and behavior of the family and the level of participation of the family in rehabilitation. On the other hand, it has been determined that the age, mother's education level and monthly income of the mothers and fathers who have children with special needs do not affect the social participation level of the family, but the education level of the father and the type of disability of the child with special needs have an effect on the level of social participation of the family.
