Computer aided design and manufacturing for production of unique interior design components

By the inventions of industrialization, building materials and components are changed to be served with standardized form, functional properties and low prices. Due to this situation, instead of designing and producing unique and original components, designers tended to design in order to fit into standardized properties of mass produced materials and components. Therefore, designers get apart from the unity of design and production which were once together to produce unique buildings. Today, designs which were once too much expensive or difficult to produce manually can be produced uniquely, easily, with high quality and low prices. It is achieved by flexible production methods and computer aided design and manufacturing.In this study, design and production of unique interior design components by computer aided design and production will be discussed. The research on the fact that uses and potentials of computer aided design and manufacturing in interior design discipline is shown and differences of applications between other disciplines are exhibited.
