Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to investigate whether the training and development activities applied to employees in the retail industry have an impact on organizational commitment. In the first part of the study, the theoretical part is included. In the second part, education and development activities in retail sector and the relationship of these activities with organizational commitment are tried to be explained. In the third part, the study carried out to examine the effect of training and development activities implemented in the retail sector on organizational commitment. In the research, the data were collected by means of a survey method. The surveys were conducted on 534 people working in the retail sector operating as a chain store in Bursa. "SPSS 25.0 for Windows" program was used to analyze the data obtained. According to the data obtained as a result of the analysis, it was determined that there is a statistically significant relationship between training and development activities and organizational commitment. A moderate positive correlation was found between the behavior, outcome dimensions, and organizational commitment of training and development activities, and a high level of positive learning. In addition, analyzes were conducted to determine how organizational commitment differs according to demographic variables.
