Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to determine the levels of IgG subtypes (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3 and IgG4) in gingival crevicular fluid in cases of periodontal health and disease. This study is a cross-sectional study including a total of 80 patients, 30 males and 50 females. In the study there are five groups composed of, healthy group (9 women and 7 men, group S), gingivitis group (9 women and 7 men, group G), periodontitis stage III degree B group (11 women and 5 men, group P3B), periodontitis stage III degree C group (12 women and 4 men group P3C) and diabetic periodontitis stage III degree C periodontitis group (9 women, 7 men, group P3CD). IgG1, IgG2, IgG3 and IgG4 levels in gingival crevicular fluid samples taken from these patients were evaluated by ELISA method. According to results, while IgG1 level is lowest in group P3B; it is highest in group S. The IgG1 level of group P3CD is higher than group G and group P3B (p<0,001). IgG2 level is highest in group S (p<0,001). When IgG3 and IgG4 levels were evaluated between groups, no statistically significant difference was found (p>0,05). In conclusion, in cases of periodontal health and disease, the levels of IgG1 and IgG2 in the gingival crevicular fluid vary; however, IgG3 and IgG4 levels do not differ.
