Abstract (EN)

The geography of the Kingdom of Commagene is a historical region that currently covers the entire province of Adiyaman, some parts of the provinces of Gaziantep and Kahramanmaraş. Perre, one of the five largest cities of the Kingdom of Kommage, is a city that has maintained its position and existence for a long time with its location and natural resources. The ancient city of Perre is located 5 km northeast of the city center of Adıyaman in the neighborhood of Örenli. It was discovered during the research of Mount Nemrut by being on the road route, some researchers mentioned it, but the first comprehensive studies were conducted by the Decadent museum between 2001 and 2009. The studies, which were interrupted for a period, were restarted in 2020 and are still continuing today. Dec. Due to the fact that the residential area of the city of Perre remains under modern agricultural land and settlement, the studies carried out so far have taken place in the Necropolis of Perre. A large number of finds have been recovered in the workshops uncovered during the excavations carried out in the necropolis and have enabled us to obtain important information about the city. One of these finds unearthed during the excavations carried out in the ancient city of Perre is woven tools. Bench weights and heavyweights have been extensively recovered from these tools. Within the scope of the thesis, 22 spindle whorls and 58 woven loom weights were examined and evaluated. Heavyweights are classified as circular/discoid, conical and semi-conical; woven loom weights are classified as uniform circular. With this study, it is aimed to obtain information about the weaving industry in the city as a result of the documented weaving loom weights and weights in the City of Perre.
