Abstract (EN)

In this study three different groups consist of 25 Turkish women whose suffering from primary infertility for different reasons, polycystic ovary syndrome PCOS, tubal factor infertility (TFI), and unexplained infertility (UI), as well as a group of control healthy fertile women underwent genetic assessment analysis, in Kayseri Province/ Turkey. For investigating the pathophysiology of infertility for these groups, this study linked to two main cytokine genes interleukin 11 IL-11 and leukemia inhibitory factor LIF, since they have fundamental roles in regulating the blastocyst implantation process in the uterine epithelium. The expressions of LIF and IL-11 genes were evaluated by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT–PCR) in patients and healthy controls. As a result of the genetic test, all three groups showed promising results regarding LIF gene, which appeared at very small levels compared to the control group, indicating the great importance of this gene in healthful pregnancy. On the other hand, regarding IL-11, the two groups TFI, and UI, were significantly linked to the lower level of the gene expression, while the PCOS group has no significant difference when compared to control group, indicating the crucial role of this gene with successful embryo implantation Keywords: Infertility, Interleukin-11, leukemia inhibitory factor, polycystic ovary syndrome, Tubal factor, Unexplained infertility
