Compraison of Palto's and Farabi's ideas of utopian states

ABSTRACTA master thesis on ?Compraison Of Plato?s And Fârâbû?s deas Of UtopianStates? states that especially against the social will that unqualified statesmenwished to burry into the grave, utopias as a struggle model for a new philosophicalrebellion praxis are of great importance in the history of mankind.We tried to examine two basic utopian works which are to become the sourcefor other utopias in history and whose subject-matter is an ideal state. We havetreated Plato?s utopia being a western classic and Fârâbû?s one being an easternclassic. First of all, two philosophers? lifes and times have been treated. Forgenerally the starting-point of utopias are the liked, experianced medium. Later, wehave tried to focus on what in general sense a state and utopia are. We haveexamined Plato?s and Fârâbû?s ideas of state and their sources. Exposing the Platonicmaterials in Fârâbû?s utopia, we tried to maintain its original structure. Here we havetried to answer the question of what a president means for those two philosophers.Commencing from this, we have attempted to make clear the phenomena ofphilosopher and Messenger in Fârâbû. n addition to this, by considering the meaningof utopia in Fârâbû and Plato, we have stressed upon the problem of what kind of astructure this point possesses from the view-point of harmony between religion andphilosophy. Accordingly similarities and differences have been elaborated.As a result, we have tried to show that how the source of divine life effectson Plato?s and Fârâbû?s understanding of utopia and to underline that how thissource effects a utopia or state practice. Therefore, we have tried to determine how astateman must be in order to form a good state and in order human beings to reachthe absolute happiness.
