Popular literature including romance, crime, adventure and history novels presented with the patterns of popular novels, appeals to the mid-level readers who don?t have a taste in art. Although? these writings gained reader?s admiration, they are described as ?low?, ?weak? and ?effeminate? bacause of these qualities they are criticized in a negative way. Popular novels that are the products of popular culture are considered as piece of writings which are not worth taking place in the history of literature because they are written around the same theme and they have low value of art. Popular novels which are generally written according to the requests of readers are the activity of pretifiying life based on questing to find solutions for problems of life. Muazzez Tahsin, whose romance novels written appropriately to the popular style were well appreciated by the readers became one of the most popular novelists after the foundation of the Turkish Republic. The main theme of the novels of Muazzez Tahsin?in is romance. In these novels romance was approached as an individual feeling and socialissues werealso included and these novels were seen as a tool for transferring modernism. These novels which intersect with traditional patterns in terms of fiction, appeal to mid-level readers and especially women?s world due to simplicity of the language.
