Abstract (EN)

The psychological contract is defined as the "unwritten contract", which is the sum of mutual expectations between employer and employees, or "unwritten set of expectations regarding the relationship between employee and employer". The concept of psychological contract is one of the most researched topics in recent years by researchers in order to understand the relationship between the organization and the employee. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of psychological contract on employee performance in the tourism sector, as well as to investigate the relationship between psychological contract and employee performance. Within the scope of the research, a questionnaire consisting of psychological contract scale, employee performance scale and sociodemographic questions was applied to the employees of the five-star hotel in Alanya, Antalya. Questionnaire forms collected from 494 employees in total in June, July, August and September of 2021 were evaluated. SPSS 25 statistical package program was used for statistical analysis of the obtained data. Paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation analysis, and simple linear regression analyzes were used to test the research hypotheses. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that there is a significant relationship between the level of satisfaction with the psychological contract and the performance of the employee, and the level of meeting the psychological contract affects the performance of the employee. As a result of other analyzes, it has been determined that there are significant differences between the demographic and job characteristics of the employees and the scores of the psychological contract expectation and satisfaction levels.
