Postmodern terms in Quentin Tarantino's movies

Özet (EN)

Postmodernity, considered to be an escape from modernity, has been reciprocated in the movies which are generally considered to be a part of modernity adventure since the 1980s. This study reveals how postmodernity reflects to Quentin Tarantino's movies. Accordingly, it is studied how the concepts used to define postmodernity such as the changes in the experiences of time and space, the rejection of representation, the subversion of the subject, the fragmentation, the indeterminateness, the lost of belief in universal truth, schizophrenia, intertextuality, the absence of deepness, pastiche and nostalgia have been reciprocated in Tarantino's movies. In addition to having revealed the postmodern elements in the movies, it has also been seen that the features of modern movies have been proceeding. For this reason, beyond being just in a postmodern disengagement, it has been revealed that these movies have postmodern elements.
