Abstract (EN)
The goal of this survey is to empirical research the energy factors like refrigerating capability and performance coefficient (COP), by measurements with ozone-friendly refrigerants HFC-417A and HFC-422D (Hydrochlorofluorocarbons). Although there are studies about alternative refrigerants that can be used instead of HCFC-22 in the literature, there are no studies especially with small cooling capacity air conditioners and various refrigerants. An insulated duct is used in the system to keep the insulated room where the indoor unit is installed and the outdoor environment where the condenser operates at a constant temperature. A residential air conditioner system with a capability of 2.05 kW was used for the experiments. To measure temperature and pressure values, the thermocouple and the pressure transducer are located at the inlet and outlet of the condenser, the inlet of the compressor, the inlet of the expansion valve, and the outlet of the evaporator. Mass flow ratio was evaluated with a flow meter. The measurements were repeated for each refrigerant. In addition, the temperatures of the outside and insulated rooms were measured. Compressor power meter was used to measure electricity consumption. Error analysis was performed to determine the accuracy of the measurements. Cooling capacity, energy consumption and COP values were calculated. Experimental results were analyzed and evaluated in detail. The energy parameters of the system are obtained and the measurements obtained for each gas are presented on the same graph for comparison between each other. It has been determined how system energy parameters change according to gas types. A wide analysis and interpretation of the results indicated in the graphs were made. The findings of the study are expected to be a useful resource for research and design in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning.
