Abstract (EN)
Rasathane-i Amire was established in 1868 as a meteorological central station upon the recommendation of the French government. Meteorological stations established in cities such as Thessaloniki, Izmir and Basra are connected to this observatory established in Istanbul. Although Rasathane-i Amire was established as a meteorology central station, the presence of astronomical tables and information about astronomical measurements in the Rasathane-i Amire Yearbook shows us that it has the feature of an observatory as well as being a meteorological station. Our study consists of four parts. The first part is Observatories in the Ottoman Empire, the second part is Yearbooks, the third part is the evaluation of Rasathane-i Amire Yearbook, and the fourth part is Transcription of Rasathane-i Amire Yearbook. In this thesis study H. 1288/AD., by transcribing the Rasathane-i Amire Yearbook dated 1872, the activities of the Rasathane-i Amire in this date were tried to be evaluated. This yearbook contains information on various subjects such as meteorology, geography, astronomy and history, and it is aimed to provide the reader with an idea about the astronomical and meteorological knowledge of the period, as well as to provide the data obtained as a result of the study as a source for studies on the history of Ottoman science.
