Abstract (EN)

The Mongols have an important place in both world history and medieval history. Genghis Khan managed to establish the Great Mongol Empire in a short time by obeying the scattered Mongol tribes. The empire expanded its borders to China, Poland, Hungary, Turkestan, Russia and Dasht-i Kipchak during the Oktay Kagan era. After Oktay's death in 1241, his wife Töregene Hatun (1242-1246), Küyük Khan (1246-1248), Oğul Gaymış (1248-1251) and Mengü Kağan ruled the state. Mîrhând's Ravzatü's-Safâ'sı and Hândmîr' Habîbü's-Siyer are among the main sources and first-hand sources in the discovery of the events in the Middle Ages, especially in the eastern world. In this thesis, the grandfather-grandchild historians who lived during the Timurids Mîrhând's Ravzatü's-Safâ and Hândmîr's Habîbü's-Siyer belong to the history of the Great Mongol Empire (from the birth of Genghis Khan to the death of Mengü Khan). In order to understand the political, cultural and economic conditions of the period in which Mîrhând and Hândmîr lived, the Mongolian history up to that period was summarized. In addition, the authors' history writing methods were tried to be revealed. We believe that this study will contribute to a better understanding of Mongolian history and the researches to be made.
