Relevance between information technology, knowledge management, innovation and competitive advantage, and re-evaluation of these relations based on employee turnover rate in Turkey

In this thesis, the relationship between knowledge management, innovation and competitive advantage, and whether these relationships are supported or not supported by information technology are examined. Parametric and non-parametric analyses were conducted to prevent potential deviation problems due to heteroscedasticity, outliers and small sample sizes over data collected from 61 companies operating in Turkey. At the end of the analysis, information technology and knowledge management were important in terms of disclosure of innovation but it seemed that information technology is a more important factor in terms of competitive advantage. At the same time, these relationships were re-analyzed in two categories using the employee turnover rate. These categories were identified as low turnover and high turnover rate. Further research for this part might be recommended. An additional survey analysis was conducted. In this analysis, the responses from 61 different companies were compared with the responses from one single company, and the actual situation was questioned as a result of personal perception, and whether such basic problems needed to improve itself was additionally discussed. It is important to note that such problems arise in the broad context of trying to model complex human systems and that the results should be carefully interpreted due to the limitations of survey techniques.
