The relation between organizational stress and organizational commitment of school principals which work in Public and Private Primary Schools (Pendik sample)

There are several factors that result in stress in both organizational and individual level in professional life. These factors affect administrators negative and cause physical and mental strain. For the administrators be successful in their job, the negative effects of these factors should be minimized. In order to achieve this, first the sources of stress should be determined.For increasing productivity and efficiency in education; understanding organizational stress sources and organizational commitment levels of school principals, and the compatibility of the goals of educational institutions and persons are important.The aim of this research is to analyze the relation between organizational stress sources and organizational commitment of the public and private primary schools? principals in İstanbul province Pendik district. For this reason the relation between organizational stress sources and organizational commitment of the primary school principals are revealed.The research is conducted by reaching 60 school principals that work in 65 primary schools which are affiliated with İstanbul, PendikProvincial Directorate of National Educationin 2011/2012 academic year.In this research, for measuring school principal?s organizational stress sources Organizational Stress Sources Scale (Pehlivan, 1995) and for measuring organizational commitments Organizational Commitment Scale (Allen, Meyer, 1990) are used.The data gathered from this research is analyzed and interpreted by using software called SPSS 15.0. In analyze of the findings, frequency and percentage distributions are used. Moreover, in determining intergroup differences, Kruskal Wallis-H Test, in identifying the groups those differences occur between, Mann Whitney-u Test, in determining the relation between groups, Spearman Correlation Analyze are used.
