Abstract (EN)
The February 6, 2023, Kahramanmaraş earthquakes once again revealed the importance of earthquake resistant building and strengthening of the structural systems. Thousands of buildings collapsed during first shocks and thousands of damaged houses need to be strengthened after devastating earthquakes. In order to increase the applicability an effectiveness of strengthening, different strengthening techniques need to be developed. One of the alternative and innovative retrofitting techniques is textile reinforced mortar (TRM). The effectiveness of retrofitting with the method called TRM is discussed in this study in terms of the load bearing capacity of the TRM retrofitted members. Experimental research available in the literature was examined and their results compared with the results in this study. In addition, the calculation principles suggested in the literature were implemented to develop design charts to simplify the design process. these charts provide a complete view of the design process. Additionally, the mapping method was adopted to evaluate the outcomes of existing literature. And those mappings include structural behavior of members retrofitted with textile reinforced mortar, the failure modes, and the effect of various parameters on structural behavior. Furthermore, a summary of suggested topics for further research is provided in the study, some of which are being looked at by researchers. It is believed that the prepared charts and diagrams will serve as a guide for civil engineers working in the field of retrofitting. The load bearing capacities performances of reinforced concrete beams with different sections retrofitted with increasing amounts of TRM were calculated through moment-curvature analyses. By using moment capacities versus textile amounts were obtained. We developed a chart presents increase in the moment capacities with textile amounts. This chart clearly demonstrates a threshold shows the point of decrease in the effectiveness of the TRM on the section capacity.
