Examining sports-specific success motivation levels of school team athletes studying at HİGH school level in rize

In this study, it was aimed to examine high school athletes' sport-specific achievement motivation levels. The universe of this study consists of high school athletes studying in Rize in the 2019-2020 academic year. For this study, it consists of 200 (79 female and 121 male) who voluntarily participated in the study using the random sampling method. Sports Specific Success Motivation Scale was used as the questionnaire form. As a normality test for the data obtained in the analysis phase; Kolomograf-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests were applied. T-test for two independent groups and one-way ANOVA test for three or more groups were used for normally distributed data. The data were tested at α = 0.05 significance level. When looking at the test results obtained from the sport-specific motivation scale, in the sub-dimension of motivation to show strength according to gender variable (p<0.05), in the sub-dimension of motivation to show power according to age variable (p<0.05), in the sub-dimension of motivation to show power according to the variable of years of doing sports ( p<0.05), according to the grade level variable In the sub-dimensions of the motivation to show power and the motivation to approach success (p<0.05), and according to the family income level While there was a significant difference (p<0.05) in the motivation to show power and the drive to avoid failure sub-dimensions, there was no significant difference in the other sub-dimensions (p>0.05). As a result; When we look at the variables of gender, age, year of doing sports, class level and family income level, it is seen that there are significant differences between the motivation levels of individuals participating in the school team at high school level.
