An investigation of Rhapsody from the romantic period to the contemporary period from the perspective of the piano performer

In this study, Rhapsody music genre is examined. Rhapsody music genre has a unique place in piano literature. Its origin is based on Greek mythology. Starting with Christian Frederic Daniel Schubart, the rhapsodies of Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt, Antonin Dvorak and George Gershwin, respectively, have been examined in this research. In this study, how Rhapsody music developed in the period between the 18th century to the 20th century is examined. The importance and historical development of rhapsodies in piano literature is emphasized in this research.
