Women's employment and working problems in health sector

The ability of individuals to meet their basic needs, and even beyond that, to take their place in social life sociologically and psychologically depends on their ability to participate in employment in working life. Employment is one of the most important socio-economic problems of societies today. Women are greatly affected by this employment problem. The participation of women in the labor market provides benefits such as socialization in social life, being able to interact with other individuals in the society culturally, feeling themselves better and happier psychologically, gaining dignity, developing feelings of satisfaction and having economic freedom, as well as the development level and social It also has a significant impact on the increase in welfare. While the inclusion of women in employment is a problem in itself due to the perception of "weak gender" in the society, the problems faced by women in employment in business life are also a subject of investigation. In this context, working for low wages, being outside the decision-making bodies in business life (Glass Ceiling Syndrome), being employed in unqualified and unproductive sectors and jobs, having to find a balance between work life and family life, overtime, working on weekends and holidays. Problems such as working under severe conditions, being exposed to verbal and physical abuse cases, working informally and without social security, having to make more effort than men in order to be accepted in business life are seen as gender-based problems faced by women in working life. In this study; The current status of female employment in Turkey, around issues of women's employment in the process of historical development and have lived women in business and employment investigate the problems of women working in the health sector, women in key areas against these problems are intended to contribute to scientific knowledge by developing solutions to social policy. In this context, by conducting structured interviews with female employees employed in healthcare providers in Ankara, the difficulties faced by women in healthcare and their reflection on business and family life were investigated.
