Abstract (EN)
SUMMARYEVALUATION OF CELLULOSIC WASTES FOR THE CULTIVATION OFPleurotus eryngii (DC. ex Fr.) QUEL.The aim of this research was to study the possibility of the use of cellulosic wastes forthe cultivation of Pleurotus eryngii (DC. ex Fr.) Quel. var. ferulae Lanzi derived from in vitrotissue culture grown naturally in the vicinity of Tunceli-Mazgirt, and Pleurotus eryngii (DC.ex Fr.) Quel. obtained from the University of Hacettepe. % 2.0 malt-exstract agar was usedfor the propagation of the main culture. Grains of barley and wheat were used for thepropagation of spawn. For the formation of basidiokarp, Wheat Straw (WS) and SoybeanStraw (SS) and Bran of Rice (RB) were used as cultur media for species studied. Three typesof compost were prepared; WS, SS and a mixture straws of WS-SS (1:1). Of the threecompost were also supplemented with 5.0 % and 10.0 % of RB.The shortest period for the average of mycelium growth on SS for P. eryngii was 8days, while the longest period for the mycelium growth on WS + 10.0 % RB was 17 days. Inaddition, the shortest period for the mycelium growth on WS and WS + 10.0 % RB for P.eryngii var. ferulae was 12 days, while the longest period for mycelium growth on WS-SS(1:1) + 5.0 % RB was 18 days. The shortest period for the basidiocarp growth for P. eryngii on SS + 10.0 % RB was36 days, while the longest period for the basidiocarp growth on WS + 5.0 % RB was 95 days.In addition, for P. eryngii var. ferulae there was no basidiocarp formation on any trial aftermycelium developed on the compost even after 108 days of culture.First harvest period for P. eryngii obtained with SS + 10.0 % RB was determined on48 days, while the total average harvest period was obtained with WS + 5.0 % and WS + 10.0% RB at 108 days.In the first harvest; the lowest average yield per 100 g of material (70 % moisture) was2.0 g in WS + 10.0 % RB, while the highest yield was 10.0 g in SS. In the second harvest, thelowest average yield was 6.0 g in WS, WS + 5.0 % RB, WS-SS (1:1) + 10.0 % RB, SS, SS +5.0 % RB; while the highest yield was 19.0 g in WS-SS (1:1) + 5.0 % RB. In the total yield, the lowest avarege yield was 2.0 g in WS + 10.0 % RB, while the highest yield was 28.0 g inWS-SS (1:1) + 5.0 % RB.Keyword: Cultivation, P. eryngii, P. eryngii var. ferulae, Cellulosic Wastes, Yield.MEHMET AKYÜZ
