Abstract (EN)
Backgraund: In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship of trunk control between respiratory functions, balance status, exercise capacity and functional independence in patients with cerebral palsy. Materials and Methods:The study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and a post-test control group. Research was carried out in 26 patients with CP who met the criteria for inclusion in the study from patients who were admitted to the chest diseases outpatient clinic of Sanliurfa Mehmet Akif Inan Training and Research Hospital. Data were collected with Trunk Control Measurement Scale(TCMS),Pediatric Berg Balance Skalası(PBBS), 1 Minute Walk Test (1 MWT), Respiratory Function Test(RFT), Functional Independence Measure(FIM), Pediatrics Functional Independence Measure(Weefim) and transferred to SPSS. Results : Gkös total mean (41 ± 14), Berg total mean (41 ± 16), 1 Dyt (27 ± 16), Weefim (67 ± 16), Fim (98 ± 25), Sft data were consistent, with the literature. Results: Gkös total average (41±14),Berg total average (41±16), 1 Dyt(27±16), Weefim(67±16), Fim(98±25), Sft data corresponds to the data in literature. Results and recommendations: In cases with good body control, It was found that Balance and Functional Exercise capacity is better and it is more independent in daily life activities. Treatment programs in individuals with cerebral palsy should be prepared accordingly knowing that trunk control , balance and walking are very related to each other. Key words: Cerebral palsy, Trunk control, Functional independence, Exercise capacity, Pulmonary function test
