The issue of education in Şermin Yaşar's works

Şermin Yaşar is one of the prominent authors in Turkish literature. Her works are mostly in the field of children's literature and focus on child-related topics. One of the biggest factors contributing to the high readership of her works is that children find themselves in the stories, often using expressions like "That's just like me, it resembles me, it tells my story." Her works are concerned with educating children while entertaining them. In his works, the author analyzes the behaviors towards children in culture, society, and family, approaches to children, adults' perception of children, their perspectives on children, and the responsibilities they impose on children, and reflects these situations' positive and negative contributions to children in his books. These books are not only for children, but also for parents and adults to read. Thus, they are works that help them review their behavior towards children, understand children, and see events through children's eyes. The aim of the research is to reveal the issue of education in Şermin Yaşar's books. The sample of the research consists of 15 children's books by Şermin Yaşar. The books in question are "My Grandfather's Grocer, My Grandfather's Grocer-Apprentice, Cingo: Am I Not Human? Powder of Hyperbole, Ours, Tangerine Trees in My Pocket, Oh What a Great Country, My Grandmother is Back, Hıhıcık, Pekicik, Dahacık, Lo, The Money Tree, The First Morning of the Republic, The Most Important Student in the World." The issue of education is based on the elements found in the works and the studies examined in the literature review "education in the family, the relationship between education and tradition, the qualities a teacher should have in education, education at school, education in institutions, the relationship between education and technology, the relationship between education and the individual, the contribution of literature to education, and the student in education" based on elements found in the works.
