سيف الدين الآمدي وموقفه من الفرق الإسلامية

I have prepared this thesis to show Al-Shaikh Sayf al-Din Al-Amidi and his opinions about the Islamic sects, mentioning their founder leaders and their views. Then he analyzed those views and critics stating the judging of each group depending on the written and rational evidences in three main parts as following. In the first part, I focused on Amidi`s life; his name, his birth and place, his homeland, his death, his scholar and cultural career and qualifications, his instructors and his students, his writings, his hard life. Then I mentioned the sayings of the scholars about him and their thanks to him and his defending himself for their views about him. In the second part, I stressed on his style and his attitude concerning the sorting he used to classification these Islamic sect. I mentioned emerging reasons behind these sects and Amidi's seventy-three classification for Islamic sects referring to the prophet`s saying seventy-three divisions. I also referred to the main resources and books he depended on his classifying. I stated also the main groups mentioned by him such as Al-Mutazila, Al-Shiite, Al-Khawarije, Al-Margana, Al-Najaria, Al-Jabria, Al-Mushabaha and Al-Najia as well as mentioning their sub- groups. In the third part, we made a comparison between Al-Amidi and other scholars in term of classifying sects and their emerging reasons. While we were making comparison, we dealt with the scholars before him Al -Asha`ri, Al-Baghdadi, Al-Asfrayni, Ibn-Al-Hazim, Al-Shahristani and Al-Razi and the scholars who were affected by him after him such as Al-Aygi, Al-Jargani, Ibn-Alatanki and Al-Aqtubi. In this part also I mentioned the views and judging of the scholars and jurists on each group. ز Finally, I stated all the conclusions and results that I deducted from this studying with an index of all the main resources I depended on so far.
