Abstract (EN)

Sheikh Fethullah Verkânisî is a Sufis who lived in the Bitlis region and belonged to the Khalidiyya branch of the Naqshbandiyya Order. Sheikh Fethullah engaged in science at an early age and received scientific education from prominent teachers of the region. Verkânisî was not only a sufi who was accepted as a religious leader in his time, but also a nahiv, aqaid, and especially one of the scholar figures who were consulted in the field of fiqh. Since he was a great leader in the field of Sufism, Sheikh Fethullah, who was called Şehbazu't-Tarika, was renovned as Shaykh al Shariah among his contemporaries because of his devotion to sharia and his combetence in the science of figh. Despite his scientific capacity, Sheikh Fethullah did not write many voluminous works but he also wrote works in the fields of sufism, akaid, nahiv and fiqh. He also answered the questions about sufism and fiqh, which he was asked by writing letters, and later compiled these letters into a work called Mektûbât by his son Şeyh Alauddin. Sheikh Fethullah, who is based on Sufi thought Sharia, stated that one of the principles of progress in tariqat is devotion to Sharia. According to him, murid, the Ahl al-Sunnah line, itikadî and operative sects should learn and apply, all kinds of words and behavior that do not comply with Sharia's poetry, even people should know and stay away from blasphemy.
