Abstract (EN)
It is known that in the period between 1945-1950, which covers our thesis subject, some difficulties were encountered in the distribution of publications belonging to the national press to the provinces due to the impossibilities of transportation conditions. This situation paved the way for local press publications to become the most important news source in their region and to strengthen the local press. The government and the opposition saw this power as the best tool to be used in creating regional public opinion and directing the people of the region, and the local press sector has become an area where political parties are active. As a result, the structuring in politics was reflected in the world of the press, and political newspapers broadcasting according to the ideology of each political party began to appear. In other words, the political polarization in society has been reflected in the life of the press, and newspapers have become a platform for political polemics. Sivas, one of the oldest settlements of Anatolia and one of the important provinces of the Ottoman Empire, also played an important role in the period of the National Struggle, became the city where the National Congress was held and the foundation of the Republic was laid. The history of the press is as old as the history of Sivas, and the newspapers and magazines published in Sivas have made significant contributions to the Turkish Culture and Press History. Despite this, the history of Sivas press and the newspapers published in Sivas were not sufficiently investigated, and their importance in Turkish Culture and Press History could not be revealed. A similar connection between Hakimiyet-i Milliye and İrade-i Milliye, two important newspapers of the period of National Struggle, was seen between Ulus newspaper and Ülke newspaper published in Sivas. The Hakimiyet-i Milliye newspaper published in Ankara provided news support to the İrade-i Milliye newspaper published in Sivas during the National Struggle period, and the spirit of Kuva-yı Millîye was tried to be explained to Anatolia through İrade-i Milliye newspaper. Ulus newspaper, which is the official media organ of the Republican People's Party (CHP) and the continuation of the newspaper Hakimiyet-i Milliye, also provided all kinds of news and publication support to the newspaper, which started its publishing life in Sivas. either has been tried to be delivered. Having an important place in the cultural history of Sivas and in the history of Turkish Press, the newspaper Ülke was published in Sivas on 1 November 1945 in the printing house established with the devices sent by the ruling party. In our study, the thesis was published between November 1, 1945 and December 31, 1950, when the newspaper was published, and the number 1613 available in the archives was examined. From the National Library to the editions of the newspaper between 1 November 1945 and 31 December 1946; The editions between January 1, 1947 and December 31, 1950 were accessed from Sivas Cumhuriyet University Library. Published in four pages, Ülke newspaper announced important political and foreign policy news on its first page and included important news from its headline on its second page. On the second and third pages, he published short news on education, health, sports, economy and current events, and the fourth page was reserved for official postings and advertisements. The news published in the newspaper were provided by Ulus newspaper in Ankara, and the writer staff were also CHP deputies; Prof. Dr. Nihat Erim, Necmettin Sadak, Reşat Şemsettin Sirer, Refik Ahmet Sevengil, Falih Rıfkı Atay and Peyami Safa. In the news and columns published especially during the election periods, Ülke newspaper made us feel more like the CHP's media organ. In his foreign policy news, he emphasized that the indivisible integrity and independence of the country would not be compromised in any way, and he paid attention to publishing publications that would awaken the national spirit by engaging the people.
