Abstract (EN)

One of the shaft - hub connections used in the machines is interference fitting connections. Interference fitting connections are preferred in various engineering applications such as plain bearing bushes, flywheels, roller bearings, pump impellers attached to shafts, valve seats, gear-shaft connections. The notch effect is a major problem in connection elements. Because it reduces the strength of the connection. There is a notch effect in interference fitting connections, on the surfaces where the shaft and the hub come into contact, on the edges of the hub. In this study, the numerical investigation of the notch effect in interference fitting connections was studied. When the literature are reviewed, it is seen that experimental, analytical and numerical studies have been carried out on interference fitting connections. However, no study has been found directly on the thesis topic. In the scope of the study, modelling and numerical analysis of the shaft-hub connection were performed with ANSYS Student 2022. After the analysis results were obtained, the notch effect factor was calculated. As a result of the study, designers will be able to find the theoretical stress concentration factor and the notch effect factor in the tables prepared for the diameters specified in the interference fit connections.
