Özet (EN)
The purpose of the study was to investigate the acute effect of respiratory restrictive training mask on anaerobic performance and recovery after high intensity exercise in young males. Fifteen trained young male athletes voluntarily participated in the study. The study was planned as a randomized crossover design and the athletes participated in three separate test sessions, a day break in the form of rotation model. Participants performed the Running Based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST) without mask, with 2743,2m Respiratory Restrictive Training Mask (RRTM) and 3657,6m RRTM. After the RAST test, peak power, average power, fatigue index, rating perceived exertion (RPE), repetitive sprint power value, repetitive sprint heart rate (HR), recovery blood lactate level and HR values were obtained. One-way analysis of variance for repeated measures was used for the analysis of peak power, average power, fatigue index and RPE values. Two-way analysis of variance for repeated measures was used for the analysis of repetitive sprints power and repetitive sprints HR values and recovery lactate and HR values. A statistically significant decrease was detected in peak power, avarage power and repetitive sprint power values in the 2743,2m RRTM and 3657,6m RRTM trials, compared to the without mask trial (p<0.05). There was a statistically significant increase in RPE values in the 2743,2m RRTM and 3657,6m RRTM trials compared to the without mask trial (p<0.05). There was a statistically significant decrease in blood lactate levels in the 2743,2m RRTM and 3657,6m RRTM trials, compared to the without maks trial (p<0.05). The conclusion, this study revealed that the use of RRTM adversely affects anaerobic performance, increases RPE and causes a decrease in blood lactate accumulation during high-intensity exercise.
