A sociological eveluation on divorce causes in Somalia

Nowadays the increase of divorce rates around the global are among the most visible features of family change. This study will evaluate a sociological perpspective of the causes of divorce in Somalia by qualitative research interview method were interviewed with 116 divorced women and men living in Somalia. In the field study were conducted, we will evaluate deeply the problems were divorced persons experienced during the marriage, the reasons of their divorce, the legal processes and his difficulties to divorce and the post-divorce situations of divorced persons and their children. The main purpose of this research is to reveal the main causes of divorce in Somalia by evaluating sociological perspective. As a result of this research, the main reasons for divorce in Somalia are Economic Problems, Communication and misundersranding problems of marriage, Family Intervention, Domestic Violences, Drug Addiction and Polygamous Marriages. Therefore, This qualitative field work found that divorced women, men and their children are facing economic and psychological problems as well as situations such as exclusion and defamation from society.
