Abstract (EN)
The aim of the research, is to examine the relationship between adolescents' five-factor personality features by use of Social Media. As for sample, there are 548 girl and 441 boy students and they are between the ages of 11-18. Students who are Attached to the Ministry of Education's secondary and high schools Anatolian type. They were determined by the random sampling method. Adolescents' data participating in the study, are determined by Big Five Factor personality traits Scale. Prepared data on the use of social media called "Personal Information Form" has been obtained by researcher. In the analysis of data , understanding of social media use times whether it differs according to big five personality traits, One-way analysis of variance ANOVA,was used. Intended use of social media visit, understanding social media account whether it differs by big five personality traits or not, one way MANOVA had been done by the researcher. According to the social media using time, there was no significant difference between the agreeableness and openness subscales. On the other hand, there is a significant differences between conscientiousness, extraversion and neuroticism. In association with five personality traits of social media purpose, it was found that there are significant differences with different personality traits for each purpose. Adolescents' use of social media, the purpose of " chat line " is related to conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness personality trait. " Make new friends " is related to conscientiousness personality trait." To share photos" is related to Neurouticism and extraversion personality trait. " Make a comments " is related to conscientiousness, extraversion personality trait. "To obtain information " is related to conscientiousness, openness and extraversion personality trait. " Sharing a video " is related to conscientiousness and extraversion personality trait. " Sharing News " is related to conscientiousness and extraversion personality trait. "Playing a game " is related to conscientiousness and neurouticism personality trait. "To communicate with familiar" is related to c agreeableness and extraversionpersonality trait." To check what your friends are doing" is related to neurouticism, extraversion, openness and conscientiousness personality trait. "Spend their free time" is related to conscientiousness, extraversion and neurouticism personality trait. In association with five personality traits it was found tohat there are significant differences with different personality traits for each purpose in the aim of social media accounts used. " Facebook " is related to neurouticism personality trait. "Twitter" is related to agreeableness,extraversion, openness and conscientiousness personality trait. " Google + " is related to openness personality trait. " Youtube" is related to extraversion, openness and conscientiousness personality trait."Instagram " is related to extraversion, openness, conscientiousness and neurouticism personality trait. "Foursquare" is related to neurouticism, extraversion, openness and conscientiousness personality trait. " Vine " is related to extraversion, agreeableness,openness and conscientiousness personality trait. " Blogspot" is related to agreeableness and conscientiousness personality trait. " Tumblr" is related to agreeableness, extraversion, openness and conscientiousness personality trait. "Pinterest " is related to neurouticism, extraversion, openness and conscientiousness personality trait. " Skype" is related to openness and conscientiousness personality trait.
