Abstract (EN)

The main objective of the Social Studies course is to train good citizens who are capable of adapting to society and the environment and developed in a balanced way in terms of cognitive and affective. These fundamental objectives have concentration as gains in social studies curriculum. Hence, during the teaching process of the students, achieving gains in social studies curriculum is very important. The main propose of this study is "Living Democracy" curriculum of secondary 7th Grade Social Studies is assessed the extent to the outcomes according to the teachers' views. Also, one of the objectives of the research is to determine whether there is a difference between the views of teachers according to various demographic variables. The study was descriptive and it studied in screening model. The study population, 2014 - 2015 Academic Year in total working in secondary school attached to the Ministry of Education in Elazig 233 includes the Social Studies Teachers. The research sample was created from 106 Social Studies Teachers who represent the population and accepted to answering the questionnaire.Research data was obtained by a scale developed by Koçyiğit (2002). After the validity and reliability study of the scale was calculated, this scale consisting of Likert-type items was used by the researcher. Four items of this scale are related with demographics and twenty of them is related with living democracy unit gains. Mean and standard deviation technique, "t" test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Mann-Whitney U test, and KWH test were used for analysis. The findings obtained from the analysis results have been tabulated and interpreted. Related research and literature were used to interpret to research findings and draw conclusions. In the study, the following conclusions were reached on the basis of teachers' opinions: It is determined that students have reached the last four of the unit gains that are related with achievement the outcomes of SBDÖ Living Democracy unit level that is the first sub-dimensions of the scale. About the achievements that students have reached; young teachers have expressed their opinion more favorable than senior teachers, grand teachers have expressed their opinion more favorable than under grand teachers and teachers graduated from history science have expressed their opinion more favorable than the teachers graduated from geography science.Towards suitability of the second sub-dimensions of the scale of the SBDÖP Living Democracy Unit outcomes for the students, Teachers who participated in the survey have remained "undecided" for these gains that are suitable for the students. About the convenience of outcomes of SBDÖ Living Democracy Unit for students, male social studies teachers have more positive views than female social studies teachers; social studies teachers with low seniority have more positive views than senior teachers. Towards general objectives and principles of the outcomes of SBDÖP Living Democracy Unit that is the third sub-dimensions of the scale, Teachers who participated in the survey have agreed on this opinion; these outcomes are suitable for the general objectives and basic principles of National Education. Senior teachers have found these outcomes more suitable than junior teachers for the general objectives and basic principles of National Education. Teachers who participated in the survey have remained "undecided "for the opinions that outcomes of the Living Democracy Unit was prepared for the future and these outcomes conform to teaching methods and techniques and measurement-assessment components. Female social studies teachers are more undecided than male social studies teachers. The opinion that outcomes of the Living Democracy Unit are prepared suitable for Teaching methods and techniques is adopted more by the social studies teachers who graduated from history science.
