Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out in order to reveal the problems faced by social workers who work as managers, and to determine the organizational commitment, psychological resilience levels, and methods of coping with job stress and stress. The research was designed as correlational model and sample was carried out using the complete count method, consists of 439 social workers who work as managers in the 81 Provincial Directorates and affiliated institutions of the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Turkey. Personal and Professional Information Form, Institutional Commitment Scale, Psychological Resilience Scale, Job Stress Scale and Coping Response Inventory were used while collecting data in the study. In the research, it has been determined that the levels of organizational commitment, psychological resilience and coping with stress of the managers are high, while the levels of job stress are moderate. It has been determined that the majority of the managers did not participate in any training that would positively affect the management processes and in-service training that would enable them to cope effectively with the stress situations they encountered. In the study, it has been found that the affective commitment levels of the managers in corporate commitment are higher than the normative commitment and continuance commitment levels. In the study, it has been determined that female managers have higher levels of coping with stress than male managers and the managers who are working in boarding institutions have higher levels of coping with stress than those working in day institutions. It is also noteworthy that as the age of the administrators increases, their psychological resilience and levels of coping with stress decrease. In line with the findings, making the necessary arrangements to reduce the factors that cause stress in social services institutions and organizations, planning trainings for improving the managerial skills of managers and strengthening the processes of coping with stress will contribute to the effective demonstration of social services to broader deprived groups.
