A study concerning theme and structure of Şükûfe Nihal (Başar)?s stories and novels

In this thesis Şükûfe Nihal?s story and novel?s theme and structure has been put forth through trying primarily to determine her life, literary career and her understanding of art. At the same time the writer?s seven novel and a story has been examined using novel examining technics.I tried to present the writer?s position in our literature history by using her story and novels. This study involves four parts. The function of story and novel as literary forms in literature and development of story and novel in Turkish Literature between 1860 and 1950 within the developments of world literature was under debate in the prologue. Detailed information about Şükûfe Nihal?s life, literature personality and works has been tried to be given in the second part. In the third part I gave the summaries of the writer?s novels and story. In the third part, theme properties of the writer?s works in terms of individual and society was tried to be dealt with and explained. In the fourth part the novels and the story has been examined in detail using novel examining technics.
