Ottoman education from Tanzimat to Republic and Tekfurdagi sample

In this study, Ottoman education from Tanzimat to Republic was discussed in general terms. Then the reflections of the educational institutions of Tekfurdağı Sanjal of Edirne Province in modernization period were revealed. The Ottoman Empire started to develop and renew in the field of education especially with the 1869 Maarif-i Umumiye Regulations. The regulations implemented in schools throughout the country were also reflected in the Sanjak of Tekfurdağı. In the Tekfurdağı Sanjak, ibtidai, sıbyan, rüĢdiye, idadi and non-Muslim schools were tried to be determined separately on the subjects such as names, numbers, teachers, students, lectures, construction. The innovations from the Tanzimat to the beginning of the 20th century and their reflections on the starboard are presented in the light of the information obtained from the documents.
