The semantic changes in Kamus-i Türkî from tarama sözlüğü

THE SEMANTIC CHANGES IN KAMUS-I TÜRKÎ FROM TARAMA SÖZLÜĞÜ In this study titled "The Semantic Changes in Kamus-ı Türkî from Tarama Sözlüğü", the semantic changes in the common vocabulary of the two dictionaries were examined and classified. In the theoretical part of the work, explanations about language, dictionary and semantics were given. For a better understanding of the subject, these explanations were associated with the "meaning" which is the basis of the thesis. The words of Tarama Sözlüğü and the semantic changes in Kamûs-ı Türkî were handled one by one; are classified according to the principles explained in the introduction of the thesis. The expressions in this classification were formed in alphabetical order. Types of semantic changes detected in the study are semantic restriction, semantic extention, semantic transfer, melioration and pejoration. The types of semantic changes in words that are exposed to semantic changes and the number of the meanings of these words in the dictionaries were transferred to the table. At the end of the study in which a total of nine hundred and thirteen (913) semantic changes and seven hundred and ninety-eight (798) common meanings were revealed, the words that are same in Tarama Sözlüğü and Kamûs-ı Türkî were presented in alphabetical order.
