Protection of historical city landscapes: Antalya Kaleiçi case study

Antalya, Pergamon King II. By Attalos it was founded in M.Ö.133. Kaleici is surrounded Mediterranean street in the city's west, north Republic Street, the main street east of Ataturk. City Walls which is parallel to the street. today a part of the walls surrounding the Kaleici has standing. Old City with this apparent threshold limit, partly preserved studies storey buildings in the city center, it is avilable without losing the authenticity of traditional tissue until today. There are 80 towers and walls. There are many tile roof homes within the city walls until 3000.However Kaleiçi's civil architecture building in the existing 473 units, 72 monuments, 56 registered wells, 93 pieces of protection required gardens, there are 25 registered trees (Anonymous, 2014). The houses are not only give an idea about the architectural history of Antalya characteristic structures, but also historical landscape features of the lifestyle, customs and traditions are reflected in the best way. Significantly in Old City, the historic architectural integrity is preserved. But historic structures built incompatible with the environment in causing visual pollution (concrete structures) are available. This situation negatively affects is the town's historic appearance. In this regard, to restore the historical Kaleici region is of great importance Renovation original value. This project by discussing the history of the original value of Kaleici, a road map for the re resolved to their original values will be presented. Therefore, this research; Antalya Kaleici context of sustainable development and conservation in urban sites, historical landscape quality lowers to reveal the status of current factors, it aims to improve how how solutions to be improved in elimination can and historic landscape quality of the negativity in accordance with the said principles and regulations above. In addition, the protection of the urban conservation area and the location of the planned landscape architecture discipline will be illuminated. Kaleici in this context by considering the present conditions of legal administrative situation in the historical area of the concrete building located in the protection development plan will focus on the current situation. Original Old City architecture of these buildings, landscaping and creating possible scenarios for the elimination of this effect by revealing negative and contrary to the situation for the present impact on environmental quality, past uncovering the original landscape, aims to determine the structural and vegetative landscaping elements.
