The problem of causation in tecrîdü'l- itikad annotations

Causality refers to the reason that yields an event or existence. Causality, which is the cosmological and epistemological expression of Islamic philosophy, provides an explanation for the existence and orients scholarly activities in the study of reasoning. Causation, "Cause and effect" refer to the relationship between reason and outcome. The relationship between reason and outcome is the essence of cause and effect. Searching for answers by starting with the effect when searching for its cause is a predisposition for the human mind as well as a common methodology that has been around for centuries. The causation doctrine has been important when providing an explanation of epistemology and transformation. İbn Sînâ explored causation doctrine thoroughly in his book called eş-Şifâ. Similarly, Nasîrüddin Tûsî's interest in İbn Sînâ's ideas and his adaption of philosophy into Islamic scholastic theology yielded his book called Tecrîdü'l-İtikad to be annotated by many scholars that belonged to various schools of thought. As the author indicated, it is almost impossible to find another book that could spark interest among those who favor various schools of thought. In our work, we cited the following commentaries of Tecrîdü'l-İtikad: Keşfü'l-Murād by İbnü'l-Muṭahhar el-Ḥillî, Şerhu Tecrîdi'l- Akâid by Ali Kuşcu and Ḥâşiye ʿalâ Şerḥi't-Tecrîd by Celâleddin Devvanî. Hilli, who had been a student of Tûsî, was the first scholar to annotate the Tecrid. He started the tradition of annotation of the Tecrid and provided guidance to the next commentators. Moreover, the commentary by Ali Kuşcu covered the Tecrid in its entirety, helped continue this tradition, and opened up the Tecrid to the discussion in Islamic philosophy. In our work, we will discuss Tecrîdü'l-İtikad and its aforementioned commentaries within the context of the matter of cause and effect.
