Abstract (EN)

Supply chains are complex network structures in which companies from many industries work together to carry out their operations with a high degree of harmony. The key issues that managers need to be aware of can be hidden by supply chain uncertainty, which can be caused by a variety of internal and external sources. The vulnerability and cost of operational processes can increase in the presence of abrupt and shocking disruptions. In particular, the current Covid-19 outbreak has affected global network connectivity and posed a serious threat to resilient supply chains. It has become imperative to establish an effective communication channel between all members of the supply chain to reduce the costs of uncertainty and other disruptions that affect all business activities. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the impact of supply chain uncertainties on supply chain resilience and whether information sharing has a moderating effect on this interaction. The relationships proposed in the research model are tested through empirical analyses applied to 244 survey data from internationally operating firms in Antalya province. The study concludes that supply chain uncertainties negatively affect resilience, but information sharing does not have a moderating effect on this interaction. Although no direct effect of technological uncertainty on supply chain resilience is found, technological uncertainty has a negative effect on resilience when the moderating role of internal and supplier information sharing is taken into account. In addition, it is worth noting that a high level of information sharing with suppliers under high uncertainty conditions negatively affects supply chain resilience. In other words, this study concludes that it is inappropriate for companies to share high levels of information with their suppliers under high uncertainty conditions. The findings of this thesis, which was conducted within the framework of the Contingent Resource-Based Theory, are consistent with the Theory. The research findings propose highly strategic approaches for international businesses, which provide practical and theoretical contributions to the field of supply chain management.
