A study o the relationship between trust tendency and exam anxiety

The purpose of this study is to examine whether there is a significant difference in exam anxiety levels among students who have received trust training. Additionally, it aims to investigate whether exam anxiety shows a significant difference according to socioeconomic status, parental unity status, and gender variables. The sample of the study consists of 110 students, including 57 girls and 53 boys, studying at Erkan Volkan Yiğit Anatolian Imam Hatip High School. The Westside Test Anxiety Scale, adapted into Turkish by Totan (2018), and a Personal Information Form were used to determine demographic characteristics. The research is an experimental study consisting of a pretest-posttest control group model. Initially, the selected sample group was randomly divided into experimental and control groups, and pretests were applied to these groups. After determining that there was no significant difference between the pretest exam anxiety scores of the experimental and control groups, the experimental group received trust training based on the name Al-Wakil for one hour per week for 4 weeks. The content of the trust training included verses where the name Al-Wakil is mentioned and the concept of trust. As a result of the analysis of the pretest and posttest exam anxiety scores of the experimental and control groups, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest exam anxiety scores of the experimental group, and no significant difference between the pretest and posttest exam anxiety scores of the control group. Based on these findings, it was concluded that trust training had a positive effect on students experiencing exam anxiety.
