Abstract (EN)
Type 2 Diabetes is a highly complex metabolic disorder that occurs in the pathogenesis of beta-cell function and mass loss, and also contains genetic and environmental factors. MODY (Maturity Onset Diabetes Of The Young) gene is a rare autosomal dominant inherited type 2 diabetes associated with beta cell function loss. One of the Type 2 Diabetes moths, the mody cause, has not been mutated in many genes. These mutations occur in the glucokinase gene, and the release of glucose in the form of the appearance of the disorder is called MODY2. In our study, we investigated the effect of MODY2 gene polymorphisms on T2DM disease among the patients and control groups formed by T2DM patients and healthy individuals. DNA isolation was made from blood samples taken from patient and control groups and genotypes were determined by PCR Method. As a result of the studies, the relationship between genotypes and the disease was investigated and it was observed that G>A polymorphism in the mody 2 gene was examined from the Turkish population and the rate of disease occurrence of the cases with A Allelic transport increased 3.26 times. It was concluded that G allele transport condition decreased the rate of disease occurrence by 5,43 times. According to the data obtained, it is thought that our study will contribute to disease prevention and treatment and it is a pioneering study in Turkish population.
