Abstract (EN)
Many civilizations have lived in Anatolian lands due to the strategic location of Anatolia. Beliefs, understanding and aesthetic judgments from all these civilizations combine to form our culture. Among our art values that make up Turkish culture are also our weavings. The art of weaving has gained an important place among Turkish societies. The Turkmen and Yoruk tribes of the nomadic Oghuzes have established contact with other societies living in the places where they migrated. They were influenced by the culture and art understanding of the societies they encountered while preserving their own characteristics. In this way, Turks have been a society that constantly improves themselves. The Turks who migrated to Anatolian lands have developed their weaving arts by combining them with the rich culture and art understanding of Anatolia. Our weaving art is among our works of art that are documents that provide intercultural interaction. Weavings are works of art that reveal the rich cultural understanding, beliefs and fine art understanding of the Turks. In this context, our art of weaving shows how deep-rooted the Turks are. Weaving is practiced in almost all regions of Anatolia. Countless weavings have emerged by weaving according to the geographical characteristics, cultural understanding and beliefs of each region. The weavings woven in the Eastern Black Sea region reflect the characteristics of the local people and the region. In various provinces of the region, shuttle weavings are at the forefront. In Trabzon province, Trabzon Keşan cloth is among the shuttle weavings. The art of ikat weaving, which came from the eastern lands to Anatolian lands through trade routes, found its place in the shuttle weavings of Anatolia. Ikat weaving art is seen in Kutnu cloth woven in Gaziantep and TrabzonKeşan cloth woven in Trabzon. Ikat weaving has found its place on new traditional weavings by combining with the characteristic features of Anatolian weavings. The Proficiency in Art Work Text titled "Current Application Suggestions on the Sustainability of Trabzon Keşan Cloth" consists of four parts. The first part consists of an introduction. Here, the purpose, scope and method of the subject are stated. In the second chapter, the history, cultural, social and sociological structure of Trabzon province is discussed. In the same section, the weaving features of the cloth are examined one by one. The pattern structure of the cloth, color phenomenon, materials used in weaving, weaving stages are explained. The third chapter constitutes the main part of the thesis. It is planned to make new experimental weavings by making use of the traditional Trabzon-Keşan Cloth weaving researched. First black and white sketches of the planned weavings were made and then colored sketches were made. In line with these sketches, experimental weavings were woven on the dobby shuttle loom. The fourth chapter consists of the conclusion. As a result of all the researches made on Trabzon Keşan Cloth, the importance of Anatolian weaving art, the necessity of taking these art values under protection by national and local administrations and reaching today's contemporary art by preserving the national identity characteristics of our traditional weavings are emphasized.
