Abstract (EN)
Purpose: The development of hypertrophy is related to genetics as well as strength training. Recent studies focus on the effects of micro RNAs. This study examined the relationship between plasma Mir-1, Mir-128a, Mir-133, and Mir-206 and the Tri-set training protocol that leads to hypertrophy development. Materials and Methods: 26 volunteers studying at Manisa Celal Bayar University Faculty of Sport Sciences participated in this research. The Tegner Activity Scale was used to measure the participant's physical activity levels, and their weight training histories were noted. In the first session, a maximum of 12 repetitions of Squat, Dead Lift, and Leg Press movements were tested. In the second session, the participant's height, weight, and other anthropometric measurements were made, and blood was drawn before applying the training protocol. The training protocol was applied in the third session, and in the fourth session, the blood was taken after the training. Paired Sample T-Test and Pearson correlation analysis were performed with the blood sample data taken from the participants. Results: Expression levels of mir-1, mir 128a, and mir-206 were increased between before and after training; however, this difference was not statistically significant (P<0.05). According to the correlation analysis of expression levels before and after training, a correlation was found at the level of r= 0.760 for mir-1 and at the level of r= 0.737 for mir-128a. On the other hand, the relationship between pre- and post-training expression levels for mir-206 was insignificant (r= 0.260). Conclusion: Tri-set training method increases mir-1 and mir-128a miRNA levels. Findings show that these two miRNAs have an important effect on the development of hypertrophy.
