Abstract (EN)
Consumption can be defined as meet the needs and demands in the most general expression. The existence of human and other creatures depend on its needs meet. From this point of view, it is possible to, the history of the phenomenon of consumption can be taken back to the period of the first creatures. The concept of consumption based on such old times has been influenced by the developments and changes experienced in societies over time, and also, used and interpreted in different ways in different periods. Consumption is perceived as meeting basic needs in traditional societies, however, it can be said that consumption started to occupy a central place for societies in the twentieth century. As a result of the change in consumption, 'consumer society' was used to express the societies during this period. The process the transition to the 'consumer society' from the point of Turkey, it has been adopted through neoliberal policies, particularly in the 1980s. The mass communication tools have an important role in transferring to the public of adopted policies. In the 1990s, modern consumption habits were accelerated in the Turkish Community with the expansion of television and opened private TV channels. It is possible to explain as the transition to consumption community, this experienced process in Turkey. It can be said that Turkish cinema, which is both influenced and affected by its relationship with society, is influenced by the transition period to the consumption society. Recep İvedik film series, which has high rates in terms of the number of viewers, it shows itself in terms of the concept of modern consumption with respect distribution, advertising and the subject of films.
