Determination of perception and attitudes towards noise pollution in Turgutlu city

Today, society and human health are of utmost importance. One of the factors that negatively affect human health is noise pollution. Several factors played a role in the emergence of noise pollution. Industrialization, population growth, socio-economic characteristics and education are some of these factors. In this study, it was tried to determine the level of awareness of the people of Turgutlu district against noise pollution. For this purpose, 561 people were surveyed and (273) of the participants in the study were male and (288) were female. Noise pollution perception and noise pollution scale were applied to the people who voluntarily participated in the study. The Independent T test and ANOVA test were used to evaluate the collected data. For dimensions with parametric distribution, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis variance analysis were used. Pearson correlation test was applied to determine the relationship between noise pollution perception and attitude of Turgutlu people. As a result of the Applied Analysis, It was found that there was a significant difference in some variables as a result of applying the noise pollution perception scale and the noise pollution attitude scale in determining the perception and attitude of Turgutlu people to noise pollution. The LSD post hoc test was used in binary groups to determine which groups had these significant differences (p<.05).
