Türk akademisyenlerin İngilizce bilimsel makale yazma ve yayınlama süreçlerine bakış açılarının incelenmesi

Non-native academics' writing academic papers in English is a different process and experience compared to native speakers' academic writing in their own language. Qualitative writing and publishing are necessary factors in academic world, and this case is valid for researchers in Türkiye. This study aims to examine the perspectives of Turkish researchers on the process of writing and publishing scientific articles in English. Through semi-structured interviews with a group of ten participants in total, the motivations of the researchers, the problems they faced, the strategies they used, their experiences and needs were revealed. This study aims to provide different perspectives with the participation of academics from various universities by eliminating the lack of a limited number of studies on this subject in Türkiye. The findings revealed Turkish researchers' difficulties and motivations in writing an article in English. In addition, the strategies and experiences of the researchers were analyzed. This study was prepared with a case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods, and the interview data made a valuable contribution to determining the current needs of English academic writing skills. In conclusion, this study has helped us understand in depth the perspectives of Turkish researchers on the process of writing and publishing scientific articles in English. The findings can provide insightful information that can guide researchers in developing academic writing skills and being more effective in the academic publishing process.
