Abstract (EN)

East Turkestan is being persecuted by the Chinese State. This persecution in the region has a historical dimension. The study examines the position of East Turkestan in the Turkish press between 1923-1960. attitudes about East Turkestan Turkey, will be put out of the press coverage. East Turkestan relationship began with the Ottoman Empire was continued in the Republic of Turkey. The Turkish people have been sensitive about East Turkestan and have included this issue in magazines and newspapers. The Republic of Turkey on foreign policy in parallel with the terms of the period in which it has been found in different responses depending on the basic principles. The policy implemented in the early periods of the Republic and the policy implemented in the 1950s were not the same. However, regardless of the state's policy, support for the people of East Turkestan has never been abandoned. The Government of Turkey, careful policies pursued 2nd World War against the Soviet Union and the Eastern Turkistan has taken steps to support openly, has even advised the Soviets have done in cooperation with the official initiative. In this study, the relevant periods of Cumhuriyet, Milliyet, Vatan and Hâkimiyet-i Milliye and Yeni Kafkasya newspapers and Yeni Turkistan Magazine and Turk Yurdu magazines were examined. Made of magazines and newspapers with views of the Turkish press about the East Turkestan movement in Turkey's attitude and policies of the East Turkestan issue that continues today put forth on this subject is intended to better understanding. At the same time, awareness of East Turkestan will be created with this study.
