Analysis of Turkish Islamic legends

Epics and legends, which are the carriers of national and spiritual feelings among the Turks who have a nomadic culture, contain mythological elements and the transmission of these literary products was carried out by oral narration method. Epic narrators, who have a special quality among the Turks, have assumed the role of being the carrier of culture, and in time, in order to make this actuality permanent, it was written down. After the adoption of Islam, along with mythological aspects The genre of manaqıbnamah, which was first born with the tabaqats of the sahaba and tabiin, mostly dealt with the miracles of the guardians. Therefore, menâkıbnâme took shape as literary products describing the virtuous and their miracles. Manaqıbnamahs, which are among the sources of classical literature, are very important as a source of cultural history. Therefore, it is possible to make inferences about the religion, language, cultural level, scientific, political and economic conditions of the society by making use of these sources. In this study, it is aimed to make a sociological determination of the period with the examples of the manna from the first periods when Islam began to spread among the Turks. The mixing of pre-Islamic elements with Islam, the continuation of many things that the society assigned sanctity to after Islamization, and the transfer of the belief in Sky Tengri, cults and myths from Shamanism to Islamic myths were tried to be explained. By making a comparative interpretation of the practices left over from Shamanism, the social identity of the shamans and the understanding of guardianship among Muslim Turks, the synthesis between the old and the new is mentioned. This study includes the analysis of the myths within the framework we have mentioned.
