Abstract (EN)

From the beginning of the Turkish history till today, the process, which also includes the settlement in Anatolia, provided the determination of a different historical, cultural, mental and social form. This differentiation is generally evaluated according to the rational style of the West. This form, determining the Turkish society, is generally described as irrational, because it carries the historical heritage to the present as well. Whereas nature, the basis of humanity's reasons for existence and staying alive, has become the reason of a cultural and mental formation that can be perceived differently today. The Turkish society's life, which has been going on at opposite extremities today, must be sought in its first forms. These forms originate from the Potlatch life-style, which also contains the Shamanist understanding and which can be defined as 'give-take-return much more'. Thisform of life and thought style, which has transformed through the islamic impact, has created concepts like bribery, protection money and double-standard. The Turkish society's structure offers the contradictions have mostly been the reasons for tragicomic circumstances. Turkey's most productive humor writer Aziz Nesin, has brought the society's reflection into the light in his works, using all its contradictions. Nesin's literary basis has an importance in the way that it forms his works' structure, transforming the richness of the traditional Turkish folk comedies. On the base of content, this structure, when it is completed with the realities of the social contraries, has created works with a high reading level. mThe Turkish cinema has based its first movies on literature adaptations and within the process, the cinema-literature relation has continued. No positive results have been drawn from the comparison between the works of Aziz Nesin, which he based on cultural and mental data in terms of form and content and the adapted films of the Turkish cinema. Avarage products have been brought forth till today, because of the distress about scenarios in the Turkish cinema and through the fact that the movies are too far away from the realities. As a consequence, the adaptations of this well-read writer's works have not reached the same success of the works themselves. This problem of the Turkish cinema, concerning the content, is closely related to both the deficiency in the adaptation methods and the lack of accumulation of the social life. The general commercial worries of the adapted films result from the fact that neither the author's world, nor the Turkish social structure are studied sufficiently.
